ankunft delhi

sind heute morgen (5.00 uhr) bei stroemendem regen in delhi angekommen, auschecken und abholen haben gut funktioniert. nach einer kurzen nacht haben wir schon zwei fahrten mit motorrikshas hinter uns. eine davon war eine stadtrundfahrt, die fahrer waren einmal ein hindi und einmal ein sikh. anschliessend waren wir suedindisch vegetarisch essen.

derzeit sind wir vor der schwuelen hitze in ein klimatisiertes internetcafe am connaught place gefluechet, die sanne ist ausserdem gerade sehr muede.

delhi ist riesig, beeindruckend, vielfaeltig und auch anstrengend. besonders die hitze macht uns in verbindung mit unserem schlafdefizit zu schaffen, aber es geht uns gut.

zeitplan – zanskar trek

14.07.08: Arrival in Delhi and transfer to Guest House.
15.07.08: Night bus to Manali.
16.07.08: Arrive in Manali and transfer to Guest house in Vashisht.
17.07.08: Day in Vashisht and guest house.
18.07.08: Vashisht – Keylong 6 hours drive
Leave after breakfast and drive to Keylong. We cross over beautiful
Rohtang Pass (3980m). Arrive Keylong and check into Guest house.
19.07.18: Keylong
Rest day for acclimatization. One can do a side walk to Khardong Gompa.
Night in Guest house in Keylong.
20.07.08: Keylong – Darcha- Pal Lhamo(3600m)
Drive to Darcha, starting point of the trek. Trek to Pal lhamo. Enroute we
pass two villages namely Chika and Rarig. Overnight in camp at Pal Lhamo.
21.07.08:Palmo-Zanskar Sumdo (3750m)
6 hours walk crossing many small streams on the way. Zanskar Sumdo is a
small green pasture near a small river.
22.07.08: Zanskar Sumdo-Chumik Nakpo(4250m)
Leaving Zanskar Sumdo we cross a hanging bridge and enter Zanskar
valley. Chumik Nakpo is the base camp for Shingo La Pass.
23.07.08: Chumik Nakpo – Shingo La(5090m)- Lakong(3400m)
Leave after early breakfast. It is a steep ascent for 3 hours to Shingo La
pass from where we have beautiful views of the distant peaks of the
Himalayas. Another 3 hours to go down to the camping place at Lakong.
24.07.08: Lakong – Kargiyak (3900m)
The track goes beneath the face of Gomborangjon peak, a locally holy
rocky peak. Kargyak is our first village in Zanskar region and is one the
highest and remotely inhabited villages. Camp near the village.
25.07.08: Kargyak – Purne 6 Hours walk
Today we walk through several villages of Lungnak valley in Zangskar.
Purne is a small village which is the base village for visitors to the
Monastery of Phuktal.
26.07.08: Purne-Phugtal Gompa- Purne 4/5 hours walk.
The ancient Phugtal monastery is off the main trial. A small trail along the
Tsarap River, with chortens and prayer flags lead us the monastery. Visit
the monastery and then return to camp for overnight stay.
27.07.08: Purne – Pipul (3.550m)
5 to 6 hours walk alongside the Tsarap river to Pipul. Nightstay in tents.
28.07.08: Pipul – Raru (3400m)
Five to six hours walk takes us to Raru village where we camp in an open
ground.
29.07.08: Raru – Padum
Today we visit two Buddhist monasteries at Mune and Bardang on the way
to Padum, the capital of Zanskar valley. Padum has come up to be a small
town with few restaurants and hotels. Camp.
30.07.08: Rest Day (also necessary for further food shoppings)
31.07.08: Padum – Karsha (3 hrs)
It is a short day and we will visit the monastery Karsha.
01.08.08: Karsha – Pishu (5 hrs)
Starting from Karsha we walk down to a village and follow the Zanskar-
River to Pishu.
02.08.08: Pishu – Hanumil (5 hrs)
Hanumil is a village of a few houses only.
03.08.08: Hanumil – Snertse (3.850m – 5 hrs)
Crossing of Purfi-La (3.950m) to Snertse.
04.08.08: Snertse – Lingshed (6 hrs)
We cross Hanumam-La (4.950m) and reach to Lingshed village.
05.08.08: Lingshed to Singe-La Base
We cross two small passes to reach to the base of Singe-La.
06.08.08: Singe-La – Photoksar
Singe-La is the highest pass between Padum and Lamayuru (5.050 m).
After that we reach Photoksar.
07.08.08: Photoksar – Hanupatta (5 to 6 hrs)
Via Sirsir-la (4.850 m) we reach to Hanupatta.
08.08.08: Hanupatta – Wanla (5 hrs)
09.08.08: Wanla – Lamayuru (3 to 4 hrs)
Our Trek ends here. But we will stay one more night in Lamayuru before
driving to Leh.
10.08.08: Drive to Leh
